This single barrel rum is made in both column and pot still distillate from a single distillery. The rum was distilled in 2005 and aged in ex-bourbon casks for 17 years at Barbados in the tropics and continental in the UK. It was bottled in July 2022 at a cask strength of 58.4%. Foursquare is a rum distillery in Barbados, reopened in 1996 by the Seale family. It is located on a former sugar plantation that was founded around 1720. The sugar factory ceased production in the late 1980s, so Foursquare imports most of its molasses from Guyana. The distillery is currently led by Richard Seale, a fourth-generation member of a family that has been in the rum business since 1820.
